Voices of the Top End is a community group who want a better political system, where our elected representatives reflect the values and concerns of our communities, and decision making is balanced and fair, with people and the planet at its heart.

Our vision

Community voices at the centre of politics for a stronger, fairer Northern Territory.

Our Aim

To ensure our community voices are heard and represented by our elected representatives.

Our Goals

  • To create opportunities for community participation in democracy
  • Provide resources and information about how to do democracy better
  • Encourage a diversity of views
  • Foster respectful and constructive engagement in local issues
  • To record and report on the views of our community
  • To contribute to policy priorities that reflect community values
  • To encourage values-aligned community independent candidates to run for election

How do we do this?

We listen and support our community to engage, lead, and shape the future of Australian politics.

Our work is grounded in respectful conversations that turn shared values into practical change for the Top End.

We’re non-partisan, and and do not run political campaigns. As individuals, we often support independent candidates who are prepared to represent community's concerns. Essentially, what we care about and advocate for is a better way to make decisions.
